I have a report where I generate a list of all the people (Assignee) who worked on a set of tickets over the past month and I want to sort those users by the Jira Team they are associated with. We do import the Jira Team field in our custom data. When I apply the Team dimension to my report, it sorts them by the Jira Team associated with ISSUE not the USER. When I look at the User dimension, it doesn’t seem to be Team aware at all. Should I be approaching from a different angle? (note we can’t use Assignee Groups as that is HR managed via Okta and doesn’t reflect the granularity out Jira Teams do).
Hi @Lori,
Thanks for posting your question.
You’re right, the Team dimension you’re currently using is linked to issues, not users. When you use it in your report, it will show which team the issue belongs to, not which team the assignee belongs to.
Unfortunately, it is currently not possible to view which users are assigned to which teams. Technically, you could import the teams field as a property to the “user”, but it would not work well with a user having multiple teams.
We have a feature request in our backlog for this, and I have upvoted it for you. I cannot share any timeline for its implementation, but we will keep you posted if there is any news.
Best,
