Hi there,
I’m trying to make my Pages filtering more efficient.
I’m using the “Project” and “Assignee” dimensions in Pages with the “Issue” dimension as Rows.
I would like to filter the issues first by Project, so if only 1 project is selected, only the issues about this project shows in the table, that’s the easy part.
Once the project is selected, I would like to only see the Assignee (from the drop-down) that are available in that project only. I keep trying different ways, I know it’s feasible but I’m at a loss in figuring out where it doesn’t work. What am I doing wrong? Right now I still see all the Assignee from all the Projects in my cube.
Hi, I dropped your question into ChatGPT and the response seems to be working for me -
Steps to Configure the Report:
- Add Dimensions to Pages:
- Add the “Project” and “Assignee” dimensions to Pages.
- Add the “Issue” dimension to Rows.
- Enable “Nonempty” Filtering for Assignee:
- Open the “Assignee” dropdown in the Pages section.
- Click on the gear icon () next to “Assignee.” ← I don’t have this but I clicked nonempty next two the pages label/heading
- Select “Nonempty” filtering.
- This will filter the “Assignee” dropdown to display only those assignees with issues in the selected project.
- Verify Nonempty Filtering:
- After selecting a specific project in the “Project” dropdown, refresh the “Assignee” dropdown.
- You should now see only assignees who are associated with issues in the selected project.
Why Nonempty Filtering Works:
The “Nonempty” filter ensures that dimensions like “Assignee” dynamically update to show only relevant values based on the context of other selected dimensions. In your case:
- When you select a project, the “Assignee” dimension will update to include only assignees with issues tied to that project.
