I am trying to get a list of project but I do not want to display the components fo each project. Is there a way to suppress the component when filtering on Projects ?

In the report, select Project dimension Project level members and do not expand them. In that way, you would get only projects listed in the report.
Dimensions are hierarchical, and it all parent level members are always expandable. There are some workarounds to avoid showing lower level members in a report, but usually, we do not suggest that as a possibility to navigate up and down the hierarchy is a great benefit of BI reporting.
