Create dashboard

Dear community,

I’m looking forward to creating a dashboard that shows the following:

  • We have a parent project (Master Sites) with an associated flow for its issue of the “Project” type.

  • In turn, many projects participate by feeding the issues of this large project, they are separated by stages, represented by the states of the parent project.

  • What we want to build is a dashboard where we can see the projects “associated” with each state of the master flow (issue count per project). I’m attaching an image of the master flow and how they feed the subprojects.

Can someone guide me on how to do this?

To understand better & be aligned on the use of terms, could you please advise the following:

  • Is “Proyecto padre” an Issue? If yes, what issue type it is in Jira?

  • Are “sub-proyectos” Issues too? If yes, what issue type do they have in Jira?

  • What is the link between “Proyecto padre” and a “sub-proyecto”? Do you use issue links? If yes, can you specify what kind of issue links are you using?

  • Are “estados” = Status field in Jira?

I answer your questions:

Is a “parent project” an Issue? If so, what type of issue is it in Jira?----> No, the parent project is a “high-level project” created in Jira, as a unique issue it has a “Project” which is an issue created for this particular case, hierarchically it is one level higher than the epic.

Are “subprojects” also Issues? If so, what type of issue do they have in Jira?---->“Subprojects” are Projects created to feed information to project-type items created in the parent, these “child” projects have two issues to use: Epic and subtask.

What is the link between a “parent project” and a “subproject”? Do you use issue links? If so, can you specify what kind of issue links you are using?----->Child projects or subprojects are connected to the parent via the “Parent” field

Is “States” a status field in Jira?—>No, when I talk about statuses I am talking about the flow through which each issue travels from its beginning to its end.
