Hours spent on Epics and all children

Hi,

I would like to get the time spend on a specific Epic including all of its children which can be other Epics, or Stories. Of course stories can have Sub tasks. I succeeded to set up the “Logged by” and “Time” dimensions but I’m stuck with this. Can anyone help me on for this ?

@Bourgoin

eazyBI hierarchies won’t let you use the same issue type in multiple levels of the hierarchy.
In this case, you could try importing the linked epic as a linked issue for the main epic and then add custom calculations to sum “Hours spent” (from epic itself and children) with “Hours spent from linked epic” (calcualted measure)
See a demo report example here: Stories with Bugs details - Issues - eazyBI Demo Training - eazyBI

Thanks for the reply
Following your answer, I will need additionnal permissions (Jira system administrators, Jira trusted users, and eazyBI admins) to import the linked epic as a linked issue (Advanced settings for custom fields) and this is something that is not possible.

Another way would be to add a specific label on the main Epic and on sub-Epics, sub-Stories, … and use the Label dimension on EazyBI but I’m afraid that it will be time consuming and possible miss some issues in Jira.

Do you think it is possible to do it another way ?

@Bourgoin
There is no other way to import “Epic labels” as separate dimensions if you don’t have access to advanced settings.
If you use eazyBI for Jira Cloud, you could reach out for help to support@eazybi.com, and we could help you add the necessary code for field definitions in advanced settings.
Otherwise, you could ask for the “eazyBI admin” role when using eazyBI for the Jira Data center.
