I am trying to obtain historical data, the opening balance each month. The number of tickets that I had at the beginning of each month regardless of their current status. We do not currently use sprints. Does anyone have any recommendations?
You might want to check the “Issues history” measure in our documentation. It returns the total number of historical issues at the end of each period in the report.
There should be a sample report in your “Analyze” view that is called “Cumulative flow diagram”

You can enable the “pages” feature for the dimension “Transition Status” to show it both as columns and page filter, then select only “open” statuses if that is required.
