i have a Gantt report of issues with subtask BUT
i also need a hierarchy within the sub task . i have parent child link between subtasks- to allow for a parent subtask and many children subtask - we are trying to emulate a project schedule .
Hi @kovanp,
There are several prerequisites for building issue hierarchy.
You might read about building issue hierarchies here - https://docs.eazybi.com/eazybi/data-import/data-from-jira/advanced-data-import-options/additional-issue-hierarchies.
The main points to ensure are as follows:
1) each child sub-task is only related to one parent sub-task
2) child sub-task and parent sub-task levels have different issue types in Jira, like “sub-task” and “data task”
3) The allocation of issue types in the hierarchy is consistent—a child sub-task always has a parent sub-task, the parent sub-task level is never skipped, and the same issue type is on the same hierarchy level throughout all projects imported in the specific eazyBI account.
4) there is a direct traceable link between parent sub-task and child sub-task - issue link in Jira
You could build an issue hierarchy if all of these are ensured.
The main difference from the standard approach is that you cannot use the standard lowest levels but must explicitly define all levels.
Please share more details about your setup:
1) what hierarchy levels are you using, and what issue types relate to each of those levels
2) how do you define the relation between the parent sub-task and child sub-task (levels 2 ↔ level 3) and what is the link type from each side
