Would like to create a time dimension hierarchy that incorporates two periods each month: 1st to 15th, and 16th to end-of-month. How can this be best accomplished?

Unfortunately, eazyBI hasn’t an option to create a custom hierarchy in the Time dimension yet. However, we do have a feature request regarding that in our backlog, and I added your vote to it.
You can explore the fiscal or weekly (2-4 week) hierarchies - Time dimension.
There is also an option to create a calculated Time dimension member to Aggregate(…) members in the Time dimension. See also some examples here: Calculated members in Time dimension.
