Tracking Issues History in EazyBI for Jira

I am having difficulties configuring an EazyBi Report.

I want to track Issues for a set time period - 2 months, always on Monday.

I have configured a Time member in the Pages Section already and drill into Days. So this part is already working as expected.

What I am struggling with: I want to display Issues for every Monday that had the priority “High” including all labels except one. I defined a measure like this:

([Measures].[Issues history], [Priority].[High], [Label].[ABC labels without 123])

I don’t want Issues to be listed that are in “Closed” or “Resolved” status. BUT if an issue was open on a monday 1 week ago and it got closed on tuesday - it shouldn’t disappear from the graph.

I am filtering for the specific status “Open, In Progress, New” via the bar below the window where you can name your report. - I am guessing that this setting is not correct as it refers to the current state of the issues.

I am a bit stuck on how to proceed.

Added the powerbi tag as there isnt an eazybi tag existing yet…

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Anon

Welcome to eazyBI Community and thanks for posting your question!

When you want to analyze historical information, it is correct to use the measure Issues History. When you also want to analyze how Statuses have changed, you should use Transition Status dimension instead of Status dimension. Your observation is correct - when you use the Status dimension, you will only see the issues that are currently in the particular status.

The key difference is:

  • Status dimension in Page filter: Shows only issues that are currently in the selected statuses
  • Transition Status Un Page filter: Shows issues that were in the selected statuses at the specific point in time you’re analyzing
