When a measure name is changed formatting for graphs re-sets and we have to re-do it

There have been many cases where I need to change a name for a measures that has been used in many reports. However, one I change a name for a measure all the measure specific formatting in graphs breaks and I need to go an change the formatting manually once again.

For example, if I have a report like this:

and I change the measure name from “Hours spent cool” to “Hours spent very cool” the formatting completely re-sets and I have to re-do it:

And this happens in all the reports this measures has been used in.

I second this, would be nice to fix it as it seems unnecessary and I had to redo the formatting many times which is especially painful in case of multiple more complex matchings to define different colors etc.

Hi @GvidoN,

Thanks for sharing your suggestion!

You’re absolutely right — currently, when measures are renamed, formatting gets reset and needs to be reconfigured. This is a known limitation, but we hear you and we have logged this as an improvement idea in our backlog.

We’ve added both your and @aherz votes to this improvement idea and will keep you posted if there are any updates.

Edit: I have also added votes of @miks, @Elvis and @LauraHilkovic

I would like to add my vote too
Thank you!

Hi @GvidoN (and everyone else interested in this improvement),

Good news! With the release of eazyBI version 8.2, charts will now retain the chosen measure color even if you rename the measure.

Please see a list of all changes: https://docs.eazybi.com/eazybi/set-up-and-administer/atlassian-server-and-data-center/changelog-eazybi-for-jira
