If I add a report to a dashboard and then update the report, for example, change the presentation from table to bar or modify the report specific measures, is the report definition automatically updated to the Dashboard? Or is the report on the dashboard a separate report after it has been added and modifications to the original report are not reflected on the dashboard?
At least in couple of cases I have noticed that I have added a report to a dashboard and then changed it and the only way I get the changes reflected on the dashboard is to remove and add the report back to the dashboard.
I think I figured it out. I have to navigate away from the dashboards (so go back to the analyze view or go to a different account) and then when I come back, the report is refreshed. If I just view some other dashboard in the same account, then the report is not refreshed.
Hi @vpurho
Thanks for posting your question, and I’m glad to hear you were able to figure it out!
When you update a report, those changes should automatically be reflected in any dashboard where the report is used. You typically only need to refresh the dashboard page to see the updated report.
If you’re still experiencing issues where your report changes aren’t reflected in dashboards after refreshing, this might indicate a technical issue that our support team should investigate further.
If you are referring to Jira dashboards (if you’re using eazyBI gadgets in Jira dashboards), you can also configure auto-refresh settings in the gadget. Lear more here - Publish in Jira dashboards
As I’m using eazyBI for Jira cloud, I cannot actually refresh the dashboard page as if I refresh the browser, it takes me to the eazyBI Home as the URL does not contain a direct link to the dashboard. So I just go to the Analyze view and then back to the dashboard and then it refreshes.
