Track transition of a custom field to another value over time

I have a Jira field “Automation Status”. When the Test case is created and not automated it is set to “Manual”. After automation is complete, value is changed to “Automated”. How can I create a line chart to track how many TCs were automated in a month and overall count of automated test cases?

I am stuck here, any suggestion would be helpful.
